Sanda Kung-Fu
On behalf of HSD, I am making a thread that gives basic information on Sanda KF. The author's goal is to give the public a general understanding of this MA.
Sanda, or Sanshou, is a Martial Art similar to kickboxing. Sanda teaches the use of grappling, striking with fist, palm, elbow, knee, and various other striking techniques. Sanda also has a lot of kicking techniques incorporated in it's style, as well as submission techniques. Sanda is more freestyle, has a lot of sparring, a lot less rules that apply in sparring matches, compared to most Martial Arts. Sanda is currently used by the Chinese PLA, because of it's simple, effective, and brutal techniques. Sanda has in many cases been called the "Krav Maga of China", and is a good Martial Art for self defense purposes. Sanda is known as "unsanctioned and street fighting techniques" in China. This Martial Art is a difficult one to learn, but can be extremely effective in close combat situations. Sanda has also been commended because of it's simple but wide variation of fighting techniques. Because of this, it can be easily used in a closecombat scenario. Sanda dos not incorporate the use of weapons, however, disarming and basic knife fighting techniques are sometimes taught.
This information is original, and was thought up and written by me.
-I hope this will give the members of HSD a basic understanding of Sanda.
